Textile Craftiness

There are all sorts of nice things to be done with fabric, thread and yarn. Here are some I made:

~ A two-sided dragon cloth I knitted as a birthday present, adapting a single-colour pattern from the internet

~ A cable scarf from the HOL Knitting class I am slowly but consistently working on, presented by Sir Thopas the dragon

~ An embroidered family crest for my elven border guard character

~ And two different bands made in a historical technique called tablet weaving. It works by threading the yarn through holes in the corners of a number of square tablets, and then forming the pattern by turning the tablets in a specific manner everytime before the weft thread (the thread you use for the actual weaving) is put in.

You can see the makeshift cardboard tablets I used to use before I got wooden ones in the first of the two pictures.
