Proud Poetry
Transcript of the text in the image:

The Brave go forth and make their name with valour and with pride.
The Cunning understand the game of life’s swift-changing tide.
The Clever seek not often fame, but knowledge far and wide.
Surely, you say,
‘tis true that they
the world’s fate must decide?
And so it is! Yet keep in mind that none of them alone
all wonders of the world will find, or sit on every throne.
For all need those who are not blind to cares beyond their own,
who’ll be more true
a friend to you
than any you have known.
We are ‘the lot’, some say, the bland, and of no consequence.
Yet who said that a gentle hand creates no excellence?
That none of us show brilliance and would stand in our defence?
Not few are there
who’ll gladly dare
your mind of doubt to cleanse.
While cunning, wit and chivalry much can be built upon,
‘tis kindness, justice, empathy that makes the world as one.
Proud Hufflepuffs are we! And we, forever on and on
shall never shirk
the needful work
but see that it is done!
